BloodPlus Donor Awareness and Support Initiative is a not-for-profit blood donation awareness and advocacy group based in Nigeria.

We exist to build and sustain a culture of regular, voluntary, non-remunerated blood donation for use in government-approved medical facilities. We do this by designing and implementing innovative ways to recruit and retain voluntary blood donors through campaigns, community drives, digital outreach, and strategic partnerships with state-owned and national blood centres.

We are not just asking people to give blood. We are working to dismantle the fear, misinformation, and indifference that stand between Nigeria's blood shortage and the millions of patients who bear its consequences.

Our Mission

To increase the pool of voluntary, non-remunerated blood donors in Nigeria through awareness, advocacy, and action.

Our Vision

A Nigeria where no patient dies because voluntary blood is unavailable.

What we Believe

The World Health Organization has established that voluntary blood donors are the foundation of a safe, sustainable blood supply. Without a system built on voluntary, unpaid donation, and in particular, regular voluntary donation, no country can provide sufficient blood for all patients who require transfusion.

Nigeria is not yet that country. We are working to change that.

What We Do

Our work is organized around three core aims:

Donor Awareness, Engagement & Mobilization

Promote donor motivation and mobilization through multi-channel awareness campaigns including social media, donor drives and public campaigns.

Driving Voluntary Blood Donation Access

Increase voluntary donor traffic to government-approved blood banks across Nigeria.

Building a Sustainable Donor Database

Develop, manage, and grow a secure and reliable voluntary donor database.
